Steps to add the accessibility widget on Wix

Step 1: Check your Wix plan

Wix’s sitewide Custom Code feature needs a Premium plan. If you’re on a free Wix plan, skip to the alternative method at the end of this guide.

Step 2: Open Custom Code settings

From your Wix dashboard, go to Settings > Custom Code.

Step 3: Add your script

Click Add Custom Code and paste the script you copied from AccessiYes.

Step 4: Set the placement

Set Add Code to Pages to All Pages and choose Head under Place Code in.

Step 5: Save and publish

Click Apply, then publish your site for the change to go live.

Step 6: Verify

Open your published site (not the editor preview). You should see the accessibility icon in the position you chose when generating your script.

If you’re on a free Wix plan: add the script using the Embed a Widget > Embed HTML element from the editor’s Add panel instead, pasting the same script on each page where you want the widget to appear. Upgrading to a Premium plan lets you use the sitewide method above instead.

A widget on its own does not make a site fully legally compliant. It gives visitors real, working adjustments and is one part of a broader accessibility effort alongside a WCAG-focused review of your site’s design and content.
