Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 April 2026  ·  Last reviewed: 18 April 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CookieYes Limited ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses personal data when you visit accessyes.com. It applies to the AccessiYes website only, not to any other CookieYes products or services.

1. Who we are

AccessiYes is a product of CookieYes Limited, a company registered in England and Wales.

Registered office: 3 Warren Yard Warren Park, Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes, MK12 5NW, United Kingdom.
Data controller contact: accessyes@cookieyes.com

CookieYes Limited is the data controller for personal data processed in connection with this website.

2. What personal data we collect and why

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this website. Google Analytics collects the following information automatically when you visit a page:

  • The URL of the page you visited
  • The date and time of your visit
  • Your approximate location (country and city, derived from a truncated IP address)
  • Your browser type, operating system, and device category
  • The referring URL, if your browser sends one (the page you came from)
  • Session and engagement metrics (time on page, pages per session)

IP anonymisation is enabled. Your IP address is truncated by Google before it is stored and is never recorded in full. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or cross-site tracking. Google acts as our data processor under a Data Processing Amendment.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Our legitimate interest is in understanding which content is useful to our readers and improving the performance of this website. You can opt out of Google Analytics measurement at any time by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Email communications

If you contact us by email at accessyes@cookieyes.com, we process the email address you write from, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests (responding to your enquiry).

3. How long we keep your data

  • Website analytics: Google Analytics retains analytics data for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted from Google's systems.
  • Email correspondence: We retain emails for as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry and for up to 2 years thereafter for legitimate business record-keeping purposes.

4. Who we share your data with

We share anonymised analytics data with Google LLC, which processes it on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Amendment. We do not share your data with any other third parties, advertising networks, or social media tracking tools.

5. International transfers

Analytics data processed by Google Analytics may be transferred to and stored on Google's servers, which are located in the United States and other countries outside the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. These transfers are covered by Google's participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. You can review Google's data transfer safeguards at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. The AccessiYes plugin

The AccessiYes WordPress plugin does not collect any personal data from your website visitors. It sets no cookies and makes no external API calls. Accessibility preferences selected by your visitors are stored locally in their browser using the Web Storage API (localStorage) and are never transmitted to our servers or any other server.

7. Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure: You can ask us to delete your personal data, subject to certain legal exceptions.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.
  • Right to object: You can object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.
  • Right to data portability: Where technically feasible and legally applicable, you can ask for your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at accessyes@cookieyes.com. We will respond within one calendar month of receiving your request.

8. Right to complain

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection:

  • Website: ico.org.uk
  • Telephone: 0303 123 1113
  • Address: Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF

We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns before you contact the ICO, so please reach out to us first.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check this page periodically. Continued use of this website after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
